Previously known as the London On Water Boat Show, the LONDON YACHT SHOW is now back with a newer, more elite personality. This is due to the event's aquasition by Informa Global Exhibitions, the company behind most of the other luxury yacht and maritime events around the world; from the Monaco Yacht Show to the Miami Yacht Show. Their focus was to re-align the objectives of the show to the premium and high end markets, as multi-million dollar yachts are the stars of the show.
Various enthusiastic comments were passed by the management teams taking charge of the show, which is to be held at the notable St. Katherine's Docks, where it will contain two floating villages with full size event marquees. In these marquees, the attendees will find a Platinum Pavilion, featuring luxury yachting and lifestyle products and marine ‘toys’ and boating accessories. The attendees with VIP access are enticed to enjoy a champagne bar, VIP lounge, and concierge servies. The Docks’ Marble Quay will also feature a parade of super cars, bikes, and trailer boats. Prior to the whole event's start, as part of its relaunch, the London Yacht Show will open on the Wednesday for an exclusive VIP Elite function and press afternoon which will give guests the opportunity to preview the over 60 yachts and boats on display.
The event will be held through the dates of 8th-12th of May, 2019. These dates were strategically selected, as they perfectly overlap with the dates of The Superyacht Show, held in Barcelona. As a major competitor, and proclaiming to have some of the largest superyachts internationally, it is still a young event, and is an easy target for more established maritime event conglomerates. The results in the 2019 show off between the two shows will be interesting, as all the major yacht brokerage and sales companies have promised to have a strong showing at both maritime events.
Overall, we are excited to see the results of the rebrand and the recomposition of the event to attract the high-end populations and clients of the maritime industry! Informa's other events are staple events throughout the year for yacht brokers internationally. It would be invigorating to have a new location and event, eloquently produced and organised, added to that list of important events to attend annually.
